Paris Hilton’s New Teacup Pig

October 15, 2009

Paris Hilton has yet again jumped onto the latest pet craze and added another member to her growing pet army (and managed to outrage PETA).

Hollywood loves small, whether it’s starlet dress sizes or the latest in mini-pets; if it’s hot, it’s in Tinseltown.

Her latest addition is not another dog or monkey, but a teacup pig. Teacup pigs are all the rage over the pond in Britain, and they’re sure to be a hit here, too.

But think carefully before joining the craze. It’s not like a dance. A pig is a real, live, intelligent creature. And they do not stay tiny.

Teacup pigs are actually miniature pot bellied pig (hmm, I wonder if George Clooney is looking to get one, to replace his beloved Max, who passed away in 2006), and they can get really big.

Many end up in shelters, like the ones Royal Pet Club supports. So we say, adopt a pig if you want to be like Paris…

Just make sure you treat your pig with all the love and respect and care all our animal friends deserve.

Tip! Cleaning Dog Teeth

October 15, 2009

Cleaning your dog’s teeth can be hard, right? All those times you have to either bribe your pooch or struggle with him to get those teeth brushed can be tiring.

What often happens is we just don’t attempt to do it as often anymore.

Unfortunately, that can lead to expensive vet bills (we don’t want that!), bad teeth and horrible doggy breath breathed on us at all hours.

What to do? Don’t make it a battle. It should be seamlessly integrated into your dog’s fun-time routine so that teeth cleaning is never a chore and always positive. That means less stress all around (not to mention better teeth…and breath!).

Luckily, there are many natural pet supplements out there that not only get your dog to clean his teeth on his own, but have fun while doing it!

It’s like an apple a day keeps the doctor away, except in this case, a good clean of the teeth a day keeps the vet dental bills away. And we like that. We really do.

Hello fellow pet aficionados, if you happen to be lurking in New York City or somewhere vaguely near the vicinity the weekend of the 17th and 18th of October, then don’t laze about. Head on out for some pet-related fun.

The American Kennel Club (who’s celebrating 125 years of doggy fun this year), together with the Cat Fanciers Association, is putting on ‘Meet The Breeds’, something they’ve dubbed the event of the century. And it sounds like it.

Meet The Breeds is being held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City and will be showcasing nearly two hundred breeds of dogs and cats. So it’s going to be a fabulous chance to meet all kinds of interesting and gorgeous breeds you normally wouldn’t get to meet.

But there’s so much more! Vendors will be selling all kinds of luxury dog pet supplies, luxury pet grooming supplies, not to mention fantastic things for cats. There’ll be demonstrations of all kinds of pet skills, including cat idol.

For more information, including the events related to the show (that are happening in New York earlier in the week), go to www.meetthebreeds.com, and buy a ticket.

If you can’t go, we’ll report in on the thrills and spills the following week.
