If you’ve been putting off that new fancy hair do, or a trip to the groomers for a trim for your dog, don’t. Now you can feel virtuous about spending the money, because it’s for a good cause: helping to soak up the oil from the disasterous Gulf oil spill.
The San Francisco based organisation, A Matter Of Trust, are collecting hair from both human and animals to put in their special buoys. Hair apparently soaks up oil incredibly well.
They are taking donations from salons, groomers, and of course, you! Check out their site and find out how to donate. Oh, and they’re taking nylon pantyhose, too (they use them to stuff the hair into).
So start brushing your cat, get that haircut, and take your dog to the groomers for a summer trim. And help save our oceans and coastlines under grave threat.
