Sure, Diego looks a little different, but to 6 year old Maddison, of England, loves her horse and he loves her!
Diego, born with Wry Nose Syndrome, a disorder that caused him to be born with an undershot jaw and a bent nose, did have some difficulties to start with but is doing okay now. The RSPCA is happy with him, but say he may have problems when it comes to grazing.
Although other horse owners have suggested having him put down, Maddison and her mother won’t hear of it. Diego is a happy foal and much loved and his problem may be fixed by an operation, one that will cost 4,000 pounds. Unfortunately this is something the little family can’t afford.
So Maddison is hoping to raise the money to give her pony the best chance at a normal life.
