Nothing nefarious, but did you know that there are now special gas masks for cats and dogs?
Well, we mean oxygen masks, and these cone-shaped being fitted in all fire-rescue vehicles in Lynchburg, Virginia, came about in honour of a 13 year old Belgian Malinois, Ondo, who died in December from complications from surgery.
Ondo was a dog who dedicated his life to rescue (such as Katrina and Rita), and many firefighters and their families donated the funds to get the special masks fitted into the rescue vehicles.
These masks, designed specifically for animals, will help save a pet’s life when pulled from a fire.
Pets give us so much joy and peace and happiness. I, for one, am always pleased when something is given back to our special friends, especially in ways we would never often think about.
Kudos, Lynchburg, Kudos.
