In France, there are now 60 towns who are practising a greener way of life -and seemingly taking a step back to quieter, cleaner times – by trading in their rubbish trucks for horse & carts.
Many of the towns say the horse and cart is a cleaner way to collect rubbish and recycling. It’s quieter, they say, less exhaust fume, and it also means no more blocked roads on narrow, century old roads (as trucks weren’t designed for such narrow streets).
