Introducing…The Cat Man!

This wonderful video introduces us to French street artist, Bela, or L’Homme Chat (The Cat Man).

He travels each day for hours on the train to perform in the South of France with his three beautiful cats. And they are beautiful, and so well behaved.

While some have accused him of drugging the cats, he says not, they’re just very much loved (check out white kitty’s reaction to someone accusing Bela of that, it’s great!), and they look it. They seem alert, but unfazed by all around them.

And, as Bela says, he’s not a vagrant, he’s someone who wants to entertain. He’s married, and at home there are six cats, two dogs and two horses.

Yoda, The World’s Ugliest Dog

Now before you go pointing fingers at Team RPC, and calling us shallow and other things, we didn’t decide to call Yoda (the chihuahua in the pic above) the world’s ugliest dog. No, other people did that, and awarded him that mighty fine trophy, not to mention his human a nice cheque for $1,000.

This contest took place recently at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair.

And little Yoda beat out many other contestants for the prize.

Although, I have to say, from that photo above, he is sure a cute little thing. He has his own flair and loads of personality, and his little face is cute, not ugly!

But who are we to judge? Congratulations, Yoda, for winning your prize, and looking so ridiculously happy about it!

Amelia – Indestructible Kitty (Or Cats Really Do Have 9 Lives)!

Amelia the cat, it seems, really does have 9 lives!

The 18-year-old cat fell out of a moving truck while crossing a bridge in Washington. Then a car hit her, which sent her flying off the bridge and into a 70 foot fall to the ground.

A driver who witnessed the whole thing, drove under the bridge, and she found Amelia alive! The woman then took the kitty to the local Humane society, where she was named Amelia because she flew.

Amelia amazed the vets by only suffering a cracked palate and a broken leg, but unfortunately Amelia was pregnant at the time of her accident and lost all the babies.

Being an amazing cat, she’s now nursing an orphaned kitten.  One of the directors at the Humane Society said, “We stuck a 2-week-old kitten in her pen. Amelia rolls over, lifts her leg up, and says, ‘Milk’s over here.’ She’s an awesome kitty.”

I hope Amelia either finds her family, or a new, super-loving home, one where they’ll keep her away from cars and flying.

Adorable Moment Of The Day: Bionic Puppy!

Poor little Naki’o was horribly abandoned by his previous owners – without food or water – when their house foreclosed.

Naki’o was forced to wander the streets of Nebraska and got all four paws stuck in an icy puddle. Unfortunately, frostbite meant his little paws had to be amputated.

Luckily for Naki’o, he was adopted by Christie Tomlinson, a veterinary technician, who raised money to get prosthetic hind legs fitted.

When the company, Orthopets, who makes the limbs saw how happy and enthusiastic Naki’o was with the legs, they donated his front legs and now he truly is the world’s first bionic dog!

Jealous Cat….

I love it! Check out lap kitteh’s evil look!

Hmmm, poor innocent human has no idea about the coup that is about to happen…well, I bet he knew as soon as the mini war started. Oh, I imagine some mighty fine scratches.

Speaking of scratches, the other morning Scratches Malone (one of Marvin’s alter egos) decided he was hungry and wanted food now! So he decided to wake me up by sitting next to me on the bed, staring at me, then he raised his paw, extended a claw, and ever so lightly drew it along my arm. It didn’t hurt or leave a mark, but it was enough to make me admit I was actually awake.

Cats. Evil but simply adorable.
