Remember our story about the cute little kitten dubbed ‘Kitler’ (because of her ‘mustache’)?
Of course you do, and one glance at that adorable photo above says two things: 1: Hitler? No dictator resemblance at all, it’s just half a mo, and no self-respecting evil doer would be happy with that, oh and also, how adorable are her teeny little baby kitten fangs??? (oops, I mean teeth…) AND 2: What kind of mad people would not fight each other for this kitten? I’m talking the kind of fighting that happens with big department store sales over the last item, with pulling of hair, biting, quite possibly bribery and blackmail, and everything!!! ?
Well, as our headline puts it (and we admit, sometimes we’re not really that good at the whole suspense thing…well, that’s why we’re here telling you about all things animal, adorable, Italian royalty, pampered pets, and fabulous organic pet shampoos and pet supplies, and not, say, writing edge-of-your-seat novels or billion dollar making movies, so I guess it all works out in the end…), little Miss Kitty has been adopted!
Oh, and she has a brand new name.
While ‘Kitler’ can be rather darkly amusing (for those people who like to anthropomorphize animals and inanimate objects), she has been gifted with a better, prettier and rather uplifting moniker of ‘Luminus’.
Yay, adorable little Luminus, on finding a forever home.
And, for the record, she does not, in any way at all, not even if you’re really delusional, resemble Hitler.
After the original article became an Internet hit, with her sad story of people not wanting to adopt her because of her ‘unfortunate resemblance to Hitler), offers to adopt the adorable non-evil dictator kitten poured in from all over the world.
Well, she has a home (as was hinted at in the headline spoiler), and the Wood Green animal shelter in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, England, won’t divulge who she now resides with. It could be anywhere. But, the shelter also says they have many wonderful cats, kittens, puppies and dogs who all need homes, so if you have room, and (most probably) live in England, then why not adopt?
Pets are awesome, and if you’re reading this, you already know this amazing fact. But if you want a pet to fill a void, or a new friend to add to the family, then contact this, or whichever shelter is close to you. So many wonderful animals are looking for homes. And they all have personalities, quirks, and above all, a will (and a right) to live.
So if you can, please adopt a pet. I thank the universe every day for my incredible black cat. From a teeny tiny rescue kitten to a big, manly, handsome cat that is either a small panther or mid-size dog in disguise (I kid you not, everyone comments on his size. He’s not fat – kinda kitty plump – but he’s tall and long and a manly feline), and he’s smart, loyal spirited and loving.
If I could have another cat (Marvin is very alpha and has beaten up cats we’ve had visit), I would, because they all deserve the right to have a wonderful life, and while I got Marvin as a teeny baby, I’d love to help an older cat.
Anyway, adopt, adopt, adopt, and get back so much more than you ever can possibly put in. The pure love and devotion and trust of an animal who is your family, your companion, is the purest, sweetest love anyone can have. And that, my friends, is worth it.
