Cats At Weddings?

May 28, 2012

The above video is really a terrible cat wedding. I say terrible because most cats really hate being put  in clothes (no matter how cute they look), really hate being positioned about the place like they’re a well-trained dog or a doll, and they also really hate being made to marry each other (they’re cats…). However, if you wanted to plan your own dream cat wedding, then the Interwebs will provide that for you.

But I was at a wedding of a really good friend this weekend, and we thought how awesome it would be to get our cats to be flower felines. I’m sure people have done that, but is it that good an idea? Should cats attend weddings?

Personally, I’m not sure. In theory, having your cat at a wedding could be the most amazing thing ever. But if your cat was a nervous nelly kind of kitty then disaster might ensue.

Over the next whatever we’ll be occasionally exploring cats, dogs and weddings. Pros and cons, the cuteness and the silliness. And, of course, getting your dog totally wedding ready (because let’s face it, a dog as a flower dog or a ring bearer is completely doable).

Meet Disco, The Talking Parakeet

May 21, 2012

This little green guy is called Disco (in case you can’t tell from the video), and he’s a talking parakeet (budgie to some).

We love all animals around here, and Disco is pretty awesome!

If you have a parakeet and it doesn’t talk, don’t be sad. It takes a lot of time and attention every day to get your bird to talk. If you do have a talking parakeet, send us a video, we’d love to show it.

And, in case you haven’t yet, don’t forget to send your donation of $50 and a photo of your pet to help support the Paint the Bus project for Animal Aid USA. All proceeds will go towards saving shelter animals across the country – and Lorenzo will be driving the bus!

Woman Vacuums Her Cat

May 20, 2012

A few days ago the wonderfully awesome Neil Patrick Harris posted this video on his twitter account. Sorry, NPH, I’m stealing – erm – borrowing this from you.

It’s a pretty cool and weird video of a woman vacuuming her cat. Her cat. Her cat that really likes it.

However, I do that this to say to you cat people out there: DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME! If you’re cat is like mine, kitteh will give it a long, evil side eye and run away and hide. Or your kitteh may try and attack the evil monster you are wielding.  Or, if you’re like the kitteh of a friend of mine, put up with being vacuumed in the same way other cats would put up with being leashed, or snuggled, or dressed in really cute outfits – with that look of ‘fine, I can’t escape yet. But I will. And I’ll also find a away to extract revenge. It may take years, it may take place over many different moments in time, but extract revenge I will…’

Cats don’t usually like this. So, beware.

although Fat Kitteh is rather adorable.

If you have a puppy and want to teach him to sit, then you’ve come to the right place. TV animal expert, Victoria Stilwell and superstar and super-cutie Dylan are here to show you how.

It’s easy to follow, and Dylan is just going to make you go ‘awwww’. So while away your Saturday afternoon and teach your pup this simple  training technique. It’s a great way to bond with your puppy, and a first step towards having a well-behaved pet.

Stay tuned, we have more fun things coming today and tomorrow. Yay!

Alaskan Husky Hamster Exercise Wheel!

February 12, 2012

This is the cutest video to make us all feel ashamed into exercising.

Alaskan husky has his own hamster wheel for dogs and he loves it! It does what lazy human owners can’t – give the dog a fantastic workout. Now, I’ve walked dogs that love to run and not walk when you go on walks. Because apparently some dogs don’t understand the meaning of the word walk. Walk, doggies, does not mean run.

If I had the dog hamster wheel, all would be good. We’d have electricity and a fit dog. But then I’d be really fat because I’d just be standing holding the leash.

Of course, this is all moot since I have a cat that thinks burrowing under the covers and hibernating for a few hours is a good time.

I digress. Here’s an adorable dog running in a dog size hamster wheel.
