Top 3 Cutest Puppies Ever On Video?

June 5, 2012

Now, let’s not misunderstand me. These are 3 super cute and adorable puppies. But the 3 cutest ever to appeared on youtube?

What do YOU think?

I took a super cute video of a friend’s dog. It’s shaky and silly, but puppy is super adorable. Sure, she’s older than these 3 teeny tiny babies, but I think the cuteness scale is up there:

Let’s face it, all animals are adorable and cute, and while teeny tiny baby animals definitely get the FTW prize each time (just like those sneaky teeny tiny human babies winning the adorable and cute prize over all of us since we turned that awkward age of 13 and beyond. So unfair. Babies.), all the other animals are just as heartwarming and adorable and cute.

So I posted Opal’s RPC debut above. Opal the Boston terrier is not responsible for the quality of the video (hey, wielding a camera phone whilst trying to play ‘It’s Mine!’ with a dog isn’t easy). And all strange and silly human voices are actually influenced by aliens, or your bad connection to the Interwebs, or something….ignore them! (concentrate on cute doggy, instead.)

I posted this second video, not to show you my brilliance as a post modernist pet cinematographer, but to show you how easy it is for any one with a camera to make a video. And I’m sure everyone else out there can make a better video than I did. I will point out that the quality of the ‘film’ is to do with the creature behind the camera, not the star, who was awesome.

Where are your videos? We’d LOVE to see them! Post them on our Royal Pet Club Facebook page.

Breaking News – Boston Terrier Has Guinness Record’s World’s Largest Eyeballs

May 30, 2012

Oh, the Boston terrier, they have big, googly, adorable eyes (I know, because I was hanging out with one today. It’s okay, it was for work. Well, the dog was a bonus. But she had such big eyes, and she was also the friendliest, happiest, most play-with-me-est dog I’ve met for a long while. She also liked to hop up on your lap and attempt to lick your face at the merest provocation).

Well, one of the Boston terrier gang have one the award of having the biggest eyes of any dog in the world. It’s official, because the Guinness World Records have decreed it so, and you know they know what they’re talking about.

A little rescue dog, who has a broken tail so he can’t wag it, won the coveted position in the illustrious Guinness World Records. Bruschi has eyes the size of a watch face (that’s big when you think about it). And his owner Victoria Reed, submitted his pic and stats to the GWR after much behesting from family, friends and vet, because she wanted to raise awareness for the dog shelter she found him at, Operation Kindness.

So, let’s wish little Bruschi the best of luck…and hope an eyeball doesn’t pop out again… (yes, this really happened…)

5 Facts About the Boston Terrier

April 28, 2012

These little black, brindle, or sable and white dogs (and yes, the one above is a baby) are most definitely sweet, but if you don’t have one, then you may not know some cool facts. So read on…

God Bless America

The Boston Terrier is one of the very few breeds that is an American breed. He was brought to Boston by Robert Hooper around 1870. By the late 1880s the dog had become popular enough in Boston with dog fanciers that he ended up finally getting a name that reflects the fine city. He is also one of the few breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club as an American Breed.

Olympic Dog?

In short, no. The Boston Terrier is not a sporty pup. He is, in fact, the very first non-sporting breed in America. Does that mean he’s a couch potato? Not really, so if you’re looking for a lazy dog, we suggest looking elsewhere.

Literary Genius

While never making it to the legendary heights of the silver screen (starring along side Judy Garland), the Boston Terrier has made it into several illustrated editions of The Wizard of Oz as Toto. Some Terriers also enjoy using the book as a chew toy, although this is not recommended.

A Name Is A Name

Unlike most of us, the Boston Terrier hasn’t been called the Boston Terrier the whole time. He was called at one time the Olde Boston Bulldogge, nicknamed Roundhead, until finally settling on the moniker of Boston Terrier. He has also been known as the Boston Bull, the Boston Bull Terrier and the American Gentleman (even, presumably, the ladies).

Flapper Dog?

We won’t go so far to say the Boston Terrier danced the famous dance back in the 20s, but he was most definitely popular during the era. Don’t let that fool you. He is still popular today as he has been through the ages. He has been a prized pet of both president Ford and president Harding, Helen Keller, Rose McGowan and Denise Richards.

So there you go, now you know 5 fun and fascinating facts about the Boston Terrier. Go tell your friends.
