Mutt & Merlot…For A Good Cause In Brookhaven June 8!

June 5, 2012

Kitteh sez unwanted and injured kittehs are considered mutts by the peasants…erm, humans, and need just as much love as the dogs.

Let’s face it, we live in a very privileged world, where we tend to live much better lives than our parents, or grand parents, or, well, you see what I mean. However, with our privileged lives comes a downside: unwanted animals.

People will often treat animals as nothing more than a cute present, the latest accessory or something that’s an adorable baby but who cares when the Next Big Thing comes along.

Animals are living, breathing, caring, loving, needing creatures. They’re like us but better as they don’t judge, hate or bully. They just love us, sadly no matter what (even when a cruel human doesn’t deserve that love and hurts the animal).

Luckily places like the Brookhaven animal shelter and adoption centre exists, along with their partner in this fun and important night, the Guardians of Rescue.

They are throwing a wonderful shindig on June 8, called Mutts & Merlot to bring together people to help the abandoned, homeless, injured and abused animals of Long Island live better lives, get better and find forever homes.

So, they’re having an eve of wine, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, raffles and song. (And animals for adoption will be making a stunning appearance.)

It starts at 7pm, ends at 11, and the whole shindig takes place at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard, 2114 Sound Avenue, Calverton, NY 11933.

For tickets, (and they’re a complete steal at $20!!!) contact Brookhaven Animal Shelter or www.htaf.org or call: (631) 286-4940

Join Edie Falco & Lorenzo For The Animal Haven Benefit June 7

June 4, 2012

On June 7, Prince Lorenzo Borghese and friends will be taking part in the 2nd annual Animal Haven benefit, ‘Performance for the Animals’. TV star Edie Falco will be there and music will be provided by Matt White.

The event is to be held at the City Winery on 155 Varick Street. You can choose to attend the special VIP wine tasting first (held from 6.30 til 7.30) or just go with the flow of general admission, which is from 7.30 til 10pm.

Performance for the Animals is not only celebrating over 10,000 pet adoptions, but to raise money to celebrate at least 10,000 more.

Like all good causes Lorenzo attaches himself to, this one also has its fair share of fun. There’ll be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, great music and company and an auction.

Lorenzo hopes to see you there. For more information, or to get your ticket, either go toAnimal Haven, or call212 274 8511.

Enjoy, stay safe, and don’t forget there’s still time to recommend a friend to Royal Pet Club. With every friend you recommend, Prince Lorenzo Boghese will donate $5 to the American Humane Association!

Help By Design Fundraiser

November 14, 2011

This Wednesday night, the 16th of November, the Help By Design Fundraiser is being held, with proceeds going to benefit Animal Haven.

Tickets are on sale here, and if all tickets are sold before the event, $25K will be already donated to Animal Haven – and that’s before the silent auction! This translates into a lot of cats and dogs being helped, which we love.

Our own Prince Lorenzo Borghese will be attending, and he’d love to see you there.

The fun event will feature a silent auction of carefully handpicked luxury and fashion items hors d’oeuvres, champagne, music, and of course, sparkling conversations with Lorenzo and other stars and interesting people.

If you are interested in attending, you must buy your tickets in advance (see the link above). The Help By Design fundraiser is conveniently located at Norwood Club, 241 W 14th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Hopefully you can attend, but either way, please spread the word, and help find abandoned dogs and cats a loving forever home with the help of Animal Haven.

To The Rescue Gala!

October 4, 2011

Tomorrow night you can rub shoulders with the stars, eat amazing food, sip delicious cocktails, and help the Humane Society of the United States help our furry friends in need.

The gala is held at Cipriani’s in NYC, you’ll enjoy dinner, entertainment, and a live auction. While Prince Lorenzo Borghese is usually at the gala, this year he can’t make it (he’ll be in Florida, preparing for his latest appearance on HSN, and sharing the wonderful Royal Treatment with the world), he’d love for you to go if you can.  UPDATE! Silly me! Lorenzo WILL be attending the gala. He’s that dedicated to helping animals – and, isn’t this even more incentive to go? I thought so!

At the gala, you’ll be among the likes of Jill Rappaport, Will Estes and mayor of Newark, NJ, the honorable Cory A. Booker, and Prince Lorenzo Borghese.

We hope to see you there. For more information and to RSVP (and book your ticket) click here. Remember, every little bit helps, so if you can’t make it, check out the HSUS’s site for ways you can make a difference.
