PETA Is Doing A Porn Site?

August 31, 2011

We tweeted about this last week, but feel it’s worthy of a blog post.

Animal rights activist group, PETA – yes, those known for their crazy publicity stunts (see above) and naked celebs have apparently bought themselves a porn site domain.

PETA doing porn?

If your first thought is that doesn’t make sense, you’re not alone. Sure, the porn industry is big business these days. The pet industry is big business these days. Don’t worry, it’s not going to be a furry site (if you don’t know what furries are, thank your lucky stars…if you want to find out, don’t say I didn’t warn you…but google if you must, google away).

PETA spokesperson Lindsay Rajt told HuffPo: ”We live in a 24 hour news cycle world and we learn the racy things we do are sometimes the most effective way that we can reach particular individuals.”

The porn site won’t be focused on their anti-fur campaign, but instead of being a vegan. They want people’s attention grabbed, people talking and to change the way think and feel about eating meat and basically stop them doing so.

How is porn going to do this? And, how pornographic will the site be?

“There will be a lot of girl and boy next door content, but we haven’t ruled out celebrities on the site as well,” said Rajt. “People who are extraordinarily dedicated to helping animals and who are willing to do whatever it takes to draw attention to the suffering they endure.”

If you’re thinking, oh, good, finally there’s a legit reason to watch some porn, you might want to be careful. According the The Herald Sun, ”PETA’s sexy side displayed in galleries and videos will quickly give way to the sinister world of animal mistreatment uncovered by the group’s hidden camera investigations in a very different kind of graphic content.”

Now I don’t know about you, but this really doesn’t seem like a site the normal person looking for their online porn is going to want to tune into. In fact, it kind of sounds like a site made for, well, psychopaths. Think about it. Sexy images interspersed with photos or videos of animal cruelty does not sound like a good time for the normal, sane person.

I really don’t know what to think here, PETA. What do YOU think?

Just What The Doctor Ordered For Summer: Puppies!

July 16, 2011

There are lots of stories I could bring you, but some of them are depressing. Besides, what better way to spend the weekend than oohing and aahing over puppies?

See, I told you. Puppies are where it’s at.

Puppies are everywhere (it is, apparently, the season), and these puppies are seriously Cute. Yes, cute with a capital C.

Of course, as Huffington Post says (who brings us the puppyfest 2011) not all dogs have a home. And that the Humane Society estimated that there are between 3 to 4 million cats and dogs who are euthanised each year because they don’t have homes.

Not trying to get anyone down, but if you want a dog or a cat, please adopt.

Okay, now sit back, click right here, and enjoy lots of puppy cuteness.

I know we’ve talked about the importance of training before, but we wanted to share this awesome article by Sophia Yin at the Huffington Post.

She explains the importance of communicating properly with your dog, and then teaches us how to train our pooch to come to us on command. A great tool, don’t you think?
