If Cats Had Thumbs

January 5, 2012

Okay, I know this is a commercial for milk, but it’s a great commercial. Because there is one question all cat owners have secretly asked themselves in the dead of night (or out camping, or in the midst of people telling horror stories…but never mentioned it because they knew it would be too terrifying to mention out loud…). One simple but so scary a question it makes you want to hang out with the monster under the bed instead of seriously contemplating this question. What is that question?

What if cats had thumbs?

Yes, we did give it away in the title  a bit, but that’s only because we didn’t want to scare any of our readers who may be faint of heart, children, or scaredy-cats (yes, you can count me in the last one!).

It’s a question that’s haunted cat people for a long time. Probably lots and lots of years. I think Terry Pratchett once mentioned something about this terrifying question in a book he wrote about cats (not any of the Discworld novels, or anything he wrote with Neil Gaiman…I think it was called the Unadulterated Cat. It’s completely and utterly awesome, and I recommend any cat owner to pop on over to Amazon and buy it. Now.).

Now something called Cravendale milk has released a wonderful commercial in Britain about this nightmare-inducing question. And the ad is everything you could hope for and more. Seriously, I don’t usually put commercials on here, but this is one that needs to win an award. Or at least let the cat overlords know who are on their side when the thumb revolution comes.

Enjoy!

The Cutest Thing On September 11 – PUPPY!

September 11, 2011

I don’t know why the little puppy’s human was playing wolf howls, but puppy got into it.

First, the puppy was scared, and didn’t know what to do, because that is really creepy, seriously, it makes you think of  being trapped out in the wilderness somewhere (aka outside the house) and being alone, and then either possibly being eaten by wolves or turned into a zombie, or rescued and raised as the next Tarzan. Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Then puppy decided to get into it, and howl like the best of the wolves! (Perhaps he was auditioning for Neil Gaiman’s  ’The Wolves In The Walls’.)

Note: while the puppy was all ‘what is that? It’s making my hackles rise. I’m just a puppy, but maybe I better join in and pretend to be one of them, come the apocalypse, my cat was not phased and simply sprawled out and said, ‘bring it on’. Okay, he didn’t say that, but his complete lack of catty interest said it all for him.

Enjoy puppy cuteness!!!
