Puppy Bowl VIII Starts @ 3pm

February 5, 2012

Puppy Bowl 8 starts at 3pm on Animal Planet!

Forget the Super Bowl, this is where the real action (and by action, I mean insane cuteness!) is at. Basically, I know nothing about American football, and I’m not a huge sport fan (although I like soccer and ice skating. Ooh, soccer on ice! Now that’s a game just begging to be played! Can you imagine it? Exactly. Total awesomeness.), but I guarantee I’ll be watching Puppy Bowl. Puppies!

Actually Puppy Bowl 8 is more than puppies. It’s puppies, a kitty and a piggy. There’s also Meep the bird who’ll be doing what birds do best: tweeting! Yes, Meep will tweet all the action. So tune in, sit back and watch the game.

Cute Little Doormouse Snores

January 28, 2012

This is one little doormouse with a really big snore. He kind of reminds me of my cat when he sleeps (except my cat is furrier, bigger – way, way, way, way bigger – blacker, and quite possibly more evil -although evil in a good way – ), what with all those noises.

I can also see, apart from everyone watching this saying ‘awww’ to themselves (or loudly, depending whether you’re alone, with people, or simply don’t care), that that is one damned happy and content little doormouse, one who’s very comfy with the hand upon which he’s sleeping.

That’s another difference between the doormouse and my cat: if my cat was to fit into the hand of a human type person that easily, then that human type person would have to be a giant.

Enjoy the little doormouse!

Dogs 101 – The Cocker Spaniel

January 13, 2012

Since it was raining cats and dogs yesterday and the weather today is the kind of weather that makes us all want to get under the covers with a loving pet to keep our feet warm (it’s a two way relationship, they get to warm up against us, too!), I figured it was the perfect time to have a nice little video all about that cute dog, the cocker spaniel.

So, stay warm, grab your fur baby and watch this little video. We’ll have more for you tomorrow!

Baby Deer & Baby Kitten Show Us: All You Need Is Love

January 8, 2012

If this little video that’s most probably leaked straight from Disney Studio’s ‘Archive of Potential Animated Film Plots’, doesn’t melt your heart into a gooey puddle of oohs and aahs, then you, Sir, or you, Madam, have no heart.

Seriously, this video is so damned cute it could probably make the the Sharks and the Jets stop their dance fighting and do the dance of love instead. It’s just that adorable!

And yes, I do know a baby deer is called a fawn, and that a baby kitten is completely redundant, but I don’t care. That’s how cute this video is; it makes me no longer want to be a grammar and word Nazi.

So enjoy this video tonight, or in the morning on your commute (yay for modern technology!), or in your office as you grunt, mutter, moan and curse at the fact it’s A) about to be Monday and the start of the work week, or B) about the hideous person who smells like last week’s unwashed armpits who’s basically sitting in your lap and you can’t get away because the train/bus/plane (hey, you never know) is too crowded to move, C) see all of the above – it’s probably all happened to you since you’re already in the office facing a long day. And if you don’t work in the office, it’s still the beginning of a work week and you’re probably still grunting, muttering, moaning and cursing the fact you’re having to work and it’s only Monday.

Don’t try and tell the rest of us you’re a happy, chirpy, cheery person: no one is (except for our pets) when it’s a Monday morning. Those are the rules, okay? I didn’t make them, so don’t go blaming me. Go watch the video right now for a bit of happiness and cuteness in the form of kitten and fawn love.

Anyway, enjoy the video, and just think, soon you’ll be home and being loved and adored by your animal friend (and spoiling that animal friend rotten with love, hugs, presents and things to make your pet look, feel and be good).

Enjoy!

Meet Bella…

December 12, 2011

This is a little video of an adorable dog named Bella. It’s a video of her eating. You may be asking yourself why would I find a video of a dog eating special (cute as it may be)?

Well, it is special. Bella is special. She was adopted by the lovely people who made the video, when she was a tender 4 months of age. Shortly after that, she was diagnosed with something called congenital megaesophagus.

While this sounds weird, it means she has an extra big esophagus, and thus can’t swallow food while in the normal dog eating position, known as horizontal.

So Bella, being awesome and special and cute, gets to eat her meals regally, in what’s called a ‘Baileys Chair’, where she steps in and eats vertically (standing up like the posh people in palaces do. This is true!) so she can eat, swallow and live. She has to sit there for 10 minutes after she’s done with her supper. But, if you watch the video, you’ll see how happy she is, and how much she loves that chair! Hey, that chair comes with that delicious thing called dinner attached, of course she loves it!

What we love is people who accept and love animals with ‘issues’ like Bella.

Yay! Long live Bella! Long live her lovely people!
